FSAP Staff

The staff of FSAP is committed to providing quality resources, consultation, guidance, and support to all members of the Cornell community who rely on our services.

FSAP counselors are highly experienced and fully trained licensed mental health professionals. Areas of specialty include: personal growth and development, work-life balance, stress management, relationship issues, conflict resolution, family concerns, alcohol and drug problems, and career issues.


Gabriel Tornusciolo 

Gabriel Tornusciolo, PsyD
Assistant Director

Gabriel earned a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Indiana State University and has been a New York state licensed psychologist since 1995.

He is the Assistant Director of the FSAP and provides daily oversight of the program. Gabriel has worked in a variety of treatment settings delivering services to individuals with severe emotional and behavioral concerns. He has provided consultation with law enforcement, court systems, and victim services. Gabriel's interests include developing integrated systems of care, holistic models of treatment, and interpersonal psychotherapy. He has published in a variety of journals and presented at state and national conferences.

Gabriel has resided in the Ithaca area since 1995, is a spouse of a Cornell graduate school alumna, and juggles the family lifestyle of a spouse working, children running, dog chasing, house repairing, "where are the scissors?" 40 something year-old man.

 Pat Walsh Pat Walsh
Administrative Assistant

Pat is the Clinical Administrative Assistant in the FSAP, and is typically the first person a client talks with on the phone or sees when entering the office. As the primary contact point between clients and counselors, Pat strives to provide the highest level of service and professionalism, assisting each individual in a supportive manner.

Jim Morris, LCSW-R

Jim brings to Cornell’s FSAP over twenty years’ experience working in community mental health settings in the Ithaca area. His primary focus with FSAP is providing brief, direct clinical assistance to faculty and staff on personal/family concerns and workplace issues as well as providing human resource consultations, trainings, and referrals. Jim’s connection to and familiarity with the Cornell community has deep roots; his father was an ILR Cornell faculty member for thirty years which contributes to Jim’s keen interest in and sensitivity to faculty issues such as handling pre-tenure anxiety, maintaining collegial relationships, and ensuring work/life balance.

Jim lived in Santiago, Chile for four years as a young man which has positively shaped and presently guides his diversity sensitivity; he has extensive work experience within non-academic work environments such as food service/dining, construction, public health, and library systems. In addition to his Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work Jim has taken graduate coursework at Cornell in personnel and human resource management.

 Marta GuzmanMarta Guzman, PsyD

Marta Guzmán is a licensed psychologist in the state of New York and earned a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Florida School of Professional Psychology in Tampa, FL. Marta has experience working in community mental health, higher education, and medical settings. Her professional interests include anxiety disorders, chronic mental health issues, acute and chronic medical concerns, and diversity and multicultural issues. Both as a clinician and as a woman of color, Marta is invested in creating a strong, vibrant, and affirming community for all staff and faculty. Likewise, Marta’s prior roles as post-doctoral resident and behavioral health consultant at Cornell University, offer a unique perspective into the particular challenges that may arise in this community. Marta is an active member of the National Latina/o Psychological Association. She is fluent in Spanish, loves 80’s music, and is deeply interested in anything cat-related.
 Greg Eells Greg Eells, PhD
Director, FSAP
Director, Cornell Health Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

Dr. Eells holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Oklahoma State University and is  licensed as a psychologist by the State of New York. He has worked in higher education mental health for 17 years and has served as a director of a university counseling service for the past 13 years. He is the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Cornell Health, and provides broader oversight for the FSAP and leadership for all campus mental health services. He works in collaboration with health care providers, administrators, and faculty and staff leaders in providing a comprehensive, unified approach to supporting the health and wellbeing of the campus community. Dr. Eells regularly publishes articles in scholarly journals and presents at national and international conferences. His areas of interest include leadership, staff morale, mental health delivery systems, and providing care to challenging clients. Dr. Eells is a member of various professional organizations and is the past president of the Association for University College Counseling Center Directors.
